To make your stay more comfortable, our Smart TVs are ready for streaming —just log in with your own accounts and your info will be automatically removed after your checkout date. Out front, the fire pit is all set for cozy evenings—we’ve provided s’mores sticks and outdoor blankets to keep you warm. This is a propane fire pit --no firewood needed! For your peace of mind, one Ring camera is installed outside, facing the front door. There are no cameras inside or in any private areas. As part of our standard process for direct reservations, we kindly ask that guests sign a short rental agreement and provide a fully refundable damage deposit prior to check-in. It’s just a safeguard in case of any unexpected accidents, and it’s returned promptly after your stay if everything looks good.

Nordhus is your ideal base for exploring the North Shore—just minutes from year-round adventure. You'll be 3 miles from Lutsen Mountain with top-tier skiing in the winter and alpine hiking and gondola rides in the summer. The Norpine Trail system is just down the hill, giving you instant access to miles of scenic Nordic ski, snowshoe, and hiking trails. Grab a coffee or pastry just 2 miles away at Fika Coffee, sip wine at North Shore Winery, or explore the artsy harbor town of Grand Marais, just a 20-minute drive up the scenic highway.
Guest access
You have access to the entire property except for one owner’s closet used for storage and the utility room (unless necessary). A code for the digital lock will be provided prior to check in.
Location
Getting here is part of the Northwoods experience—complete with a winding gravel road and a bit of rugged charm. During the snowy winter months or muddy spring thaw, the hills can be a bit challenging, so a vehicle with 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended. We have a snow plowing service and most guests have no trouble accessing the property. That said, when the weather turns wild, you may need to park below and enjoy a short, scenic walk through the woods to reach the lodge.
